Legislative Action Day 2024

Please register today for Legislative Action Day 2024, taking place back at the State House on Thursday, March 7th, starting at 10 a.m. This year’s Legislative Action Day (LAD) event will be sponsored by State Representative Jim O’Day.

For Legislative Action Day, look forward to hearing from inspiring speakers and learning how to advocate with legislators in the morning session, and meeting with your state legislators and legislative staff to talk about issues and policy recommendations to address homelessness in Massachusetts in the afternoon.

During the event, we will focus on the Coalition’s 2023-2024 legislative (bill) priorities and fiscal year 2025 budget priorities. Read about our priorities here.

Meeting with Legislative Offices

Meeting virtually or in-person with legislative offices is a key part of the event. Just indicate on your registration form if you need help setting up meetings with your legislators, and we will work to set up appointments for you. During the meetings, pick a few of our priorities that are most important to you and let legislators and staff know why.

Pre-Event Training

We held an online pre-event training on Wednesday, February 28th, 10:30–11:30 a.m. to prepare for Legislative Action Day. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the training!

The training included an overview of our Legislative Action Day agenda, helpful hints about meeting with legislators and legislative aides, a review and discussion of the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless budget and bill priorities, and a question and answer session.
